Women work so hard in their businesses and in their lives as mothers, friends, wives, etc. But what is it all worth if they are too tired, sick and stressed-out to enjoy it? Self-Care: A pillar for self healing

Q: Tell us a little about yourself and your philosophy on healing.

I am a mama and an entrepreneur and am married to a sweet, kind and supportive husband. I am so grateful for all the twists and turns my life path has taken, because they have all led me here to this moment of true appreciation for my life, my health and the world around me in each moment.

I spent many years in my twenties and thirties dealing with subtle health issues which landed me in a health crisis and an early diagnosis of cancerous cells in my colon.

This crisis point led me to a complete shift in the way I eat and to moving deeply on to a spiritual path which has literally saved my life and shifted my world into gratitude and thriving health.

Q: Tell us about your path to creating your business and your vision

I love looking back on the path that led me to my current work because it seems so divergent. And yet, I can clearly see the connections now. I’ve always love to express myself through my work and inherited a rock-solid work ethic from my parents, so going to work was always a given. I spent my teen years working at least part-time to have money in my pocket. I learned that I was a great sales person and worked really well with people. In my twenties I  moved to sales and technology which I loved, and led me to becoming a corporate trainer within organizations. As part of my role as a trainer I learned all about creating course curriculum and standing in front of a room of people teaching them something that I created. This was a role I truly loved and thrived in. I also learned about Life & Business Coaching and instantly knew that this was a path I was meant to take.

Once my son was born, I decided that I would leave the corporate world and work in a way that would give me the freedom to raise my son and be home as well as create a job and business for myself that had load of personal freedom and flexibility. This led me to the online world, first as a retailer and then as a blogger, and eventually to my role now as a coach with a focus on Self-Care for mama’s who are looking to create the freedom and joy in their lives while creating a fulfilling business and lifestyle for their family.

Q: What is your philosophy on healing or overcoming health challenges.

I believe deeply that the small daily choices we make in terms of food, our thoughts and our conscious daily habits have a huge affect not only on our health, but on our own ability to heal. We are whole complete beings and cannot heal just one bit of ourselves at a time. If the body is in crisis, I believe that we need to bring awareness to the whole person, to lifestyle, to thoughts and to attitude.

Q: How have you used adversity in your life to fuel your commitment to balance and wellness?

Throughout my life I have been described as resilient. I know this is because I have always been able to take adversity in my life and walk straight through it, knowing that there truly is a light at the end of the experience. I have learned to trust that there are so many valuable insights and much wisdom in walking through the “fire” and learning who you are in the face of adversity.

Q: How do you stay healthy, resilient and vibrant?

I have learned to take AMAZING care of myself on all levels. I eat whole mostly organic foods, I practice yoga, spend lots of time in nature, and I incorporate fun, play and joy into my days. Making Self-Care a priority has been a blessing in that it has taught me the value of stillness, play and my own self-worth. Practicing Self-Care as a lifestyle also teaches and inspires those around me to do the same.

Q: What tips do you recommend for your clients dealing with / healing from illness?

I recommend creating a daily Self-Care strategy that involves making time for their mind, body and spirit. This includes cutting out processed foods and sugar, adding whole plant based foods, and taking the time to listen to what their soul and heart are needing. Whether it’s stillness, friendship, creativity or play … I teach my clients to listen, honor and trust their own intuitive nudges on a daily basis.

Q: If there was only one thing a person could find the energy and resources to make a priority what would it be?

Hard to pick only one, but I would have to say stillness or meditation. The power behind getting still and creative space is amazing. Once you get that feeling of connection, peace and inspiration, it can truly ripple out into your entire world.
